Although it may seem like a good idea to create a tight schedule, it’s not always a realistic approach. It might look fine on your calendar, but a flexible schedule will give you more room to deal with your day as it actually unfolds.

Plan for Surprises

No matter how good your intentions are to follow a planned schedule, unplanned events can quickly derail your efforts, so it’s wise to leave some room for distractions, unexpected calls and the like. Also, take travel time between appointments into consideration and give yourself more time that you think you’ll need to work on scheduled projects.

Take Breaks!

In addition, be sure to include time to take lunch and breaks during the day to recharge.

Review your current schedule to see what adjustments you can make to create some flexibility.
